The Project
Strengthening Electoral Inclusion, Transparency and Civic Accountability in North-Central Nigeria
Caritas Sustainable Development Foundation (Caritas-SDF), with the support of the Embassy of Switzerland in Nigeria, is implementing a project aimed at strengthening electoral inclusion, transparency, civic accountability and meaningful democratic participation in Anyigba Community, Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State.
The project, "Strengthening Electoral Inclusion, Transparency, and Civic Accountability in North-Central Nigeria," seeks to promote greater awareness of civic and electoral rights while creating opportunities for citizens—particularly women, youth and persons with disabilities—to participate more meaningfully in governance and community decision-making.
Through community engagement, civic education, leadership development, accountability dialogue and accessible electoral information, the initiative seeks to contribute to more informed, inclusive, peaceful and accountable democratic participation at the grassroots.
The project is being implemented through a non-partisan, inclusive and conflict-sensitive approach, working with community structures and relevant stakeholders to strengthen local ownership and sustainable civic engagement.
Caritas-SDF appreciates the Embassy of Switzerland in Nigeria for its support towards advancing inclusive governance and civic participation in vulnerable communities.
